Firstly, The Lively is in one of the best locations, close to most places by train - 20 mins to Ginza and Shibuya, a 10 minute walk to Roppongi. But not in the hustle and bustle of the busy streets, so there is some peace and quiet to this hotel. The Hotel sits in a really nice local neighbourhood with some food shops, retails shop, grocery store, and a 7 eleven next door. This ia an upmarket area in Tokyo. The Lively hotel is a cool designer boutique hotel so if you are into cool design then this is your place. The best feature is the lounge area where you can come back in the afternoon to relax and have free happy hours drinks from 5 to 6pm. There is a great coffee machine that also does match late’ (YES!), water and nuts to nibble. This is what every traveler needs, especial as all hotel rooms in Tokyo are small. The western breakfast is great to set up your day with, make sure you include it in your booking. The room is well appointed and modern designer cool.

The Lively is a fantastic boutique hotel located in an intriguing Tokyo neighbourhood that seems to achieve the impossible of having a relaxed vibe while being close to most of the major locations and attractions. We stayed at the start of our Japan travels and returned three weeks later before leaving for home. Coming back felt like a homecoming of sorts because we had so many positive thoughts about the hotel and area after our first stay. From Tammy in reception, who treated us to so many complementary drinks to our delightful friend Yuika at the amazing cocktail bar, the staff were just so welcoming and friendly. Even though the room rates increased significantly between visits due to the change of season, we could not see ourselves staying anywhere else in Tokyo.

I adore this property, a real gem in the hip Azabu-Juban neighborhood. Feels a lot like a W Hotel for vibes. Rooms are small but stylish, lobby is very “hip”, I didn’t get the breakfast but there’s a 7/11 right outside that covered us the whole trip. Their rooftop bar is solid mixology with a view of Tokyo Tower— imo tho it’s really overpriced, but ymmv. Staff speaks great English; young trendy types. The AREA can’t be beat w access to Azabujuban station, easy Uber pickups right outside, incredible restaurants in the area, and some of the best little bars in Tokyo (including Centifolia). Felt a bit like Paris in Tokyo. Roppongi Hills is also walking distance. Finally, local coffee is a hit here.

Great boutique hotel close to many bars and cafes and subway stations to go to other places in Tokyo. The view from our room was fantastic and the view from the top floor bar was slightly better but basically the same. Bed was very comfortable & liked the separate shower room from the toilet room so we didn’t have to wait if one of us was showering. Cool lobby area with the beer happy hour every night. The staff was friendly and helpful. Not sure why but the price was very reasonable and unfortunately it looks like they have gone way up from September so we are unfortunately looking elsewhere. I think we only paid about 21,000 yen a night and now it’s much higher.

Keith

I liked the attentive staff at reception and the cleaning crew. All were very helpful. Beds were comfortable the lighting was good. The air quality was perfect. The hotel was quiet. I was able to wake in the night and use the 24 hour lounge for reading and coffee. Nice size bathrooms with great water pressure and the Toto toilets with the bidets were wonderful
